The ILO will hold its 329th, 330th and 331st Sessions of the Governing Body meetings and the 106th Session of the International Labour Conference.

BUSINESSAfrica was well represented by the President Mr. A. M. Yuma, the 2nd Vice President Mr. Le Roux, Secretary General Mrs. Jacqueline Mugo, the Treasurer Mr. M. O. Diallo, and other eminent members of BUSINESSAfrica Mr M. Mdwaba, Mr. M. E. Megateli, and Mr A. Frimpong, who sit in the Governing Body of ILO. In addition representatives of BUSINESSAfrica members in the selection committee (Mr. Mdwaba, Mrs. Mugo, Mr. Diallo, Mr. Megateli, Mr. Savene, Dr. Mlimuka, Mr. Frimpong and Mr. Silini ensured that Africa is well represented Committees of the Agenda of the 106th ILC as follows;

  •  The committees were Committee on the Application of Standards (employers’ members from Africa: Cameroun, Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Algérie, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, and Togo. Employers’ deputy members from Africa: Ethiopia, Gabon, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Morocco, Burkina Faso, Niger, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo).
  • Committee for Labour Migration (Employers’ members from Africa: Chad, Swaziland, Togo, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali and Democratic Republic of Congo. Employers’ deputy members from Africa: Mauritania, Zambia, Ethiopia, Côte d’Ivoire, Algeria, Kenya, Nigeria, Morocco, South Africa, Namibia, and Uganda).
  • Committee on Employment and Decent Work for the Transition to Peace (Employers’ members: Ethiopia, South Sudan, Niger, Togo, Mali, Cameroon, and Uganda. Employers’ deputy members: Mauritania, Comoros, Zambia, Madagascar, Chad, Gabon, Algeria, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Namibia, Morocco, South Africa, Nigeria, and Democratic Republic of Congo);
  • Committee for Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (Employers’ members from Africa: Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Togo, Ethiopia, Côte d’Ivoire, Swaziland, and Democratic republic of Congo. Employers’ deputy members from Africa: Chad, Zambia, Ghana, Mauritius, Gabon, The Seychelles, Bénin, South Africa, Algeria, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Namibia, Niger, and Uganda);
